After a lot of trial and error, I’ve finally perfected the chocolate chip cookie recipe. It hits the blend of flavors and textures. Just follow these steps and you’ll soon be savoring delightful chocolate chip cookies in no time!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/3 cup (67g) granulated white sugar

  • 1/3 cup (67g) light brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 large egg

  • 3/4 cup (130g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Beat in the vanilla and egg until combined.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop rounds of dough, about 1.5 tablespoons each, onto the prepared baking sheet spacing about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned on the edges. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

    • It’s best to use eggs at room temperature when adding them to the batter, for blending.
    • Avoid overmixing the dough once you’ve combined the ingredients to prevent tough cookies.
    • For gooey cookies bake them less than the recommended time.
